The necessity of safety measures led to the temporary closure of the gym, prompting the need for an alternative solution to continue providing valuable martial arts training.

In response to the challenges posed by the pandemic, Micah Brakefield decided to pivot and launch an online academy—MBJJ. This innovative solution aimed to cater to the needs of individuals seeking martial arts training while adapting to the safety measures and restrictions in place. Additionally, recognizing the importance of community engagement, an online merchandise store was added to complement the academy.
